Trydel CAMS Victorian Hill Climb Championship third round

The third round of the Trydel CAMS Victorian Hill Climb Championship takes place at the Ballarat Light Car Club’s Mount Leura Camperdown after the two thrilling previous rounds at the famous Rob Roy Hill Climb and Bryant Park.

Hayward 09 pilot Mike Barker was victorious in the opening round in January before Brett Hayward himself set the scorching time of 50.86s seconds to take out the second round in style. 

The Championship is currently heating up with very little separating the top few drivers. Barker, Hayward, Michael Bishop and 2018 champion Garry Martin will all be looking to take top spot in the competition after a big weekend in Mount Leura. 

Entry to the hill climb is free for spectators on both days of competition. The first day of action begins at 1:30pm on Saturday afternoon before starting again at 9:30am on Sunday morning.

CAMS Tasmanian Circuit Racing Championship
When: 24 March
Where: Baskerville Raceway  

Baskerville Raceway holds its first major state event for 2019 with 87 drivers across eight categories to line up on the popular track for the second round of the CAMS Tasmanian Circuit Racing Championship.

All the popular categories will be returning to Baskerville including the HQ Holdens, Hyundai Excels and the Historic Regularity which boasts the largest entry list for the event with 20 cars all vying for top honours in the category.

The event’s scrutineering begins for competitors at 7:30am and the action will then get underway at 9.00 with the Regularity cars on track for some practice before the HQ Holdens begin the first official session for the day with qualifying.

Admission price for spectators is $20.

NAMSC Round 1 - Ross Hanning Memorial
When: 22-24 March
Where: Hidden Valley Raceway 

It’s a huge weekend in the Northern Territory with Hidden Valley Raceway hosting the prestigious Ross Hanning Memorial, as well as a host of other multi-club sprints making it one nicely packaged event.  

With five separate categories all taking part in their own respective races, the Ross Hanning Memorial trophy will be awarded to the competitor who has the most points as a whole across the weekend, making every race and point crucial for each driver.

The Motorkhana Championship will kick off proceedings on Friday evening at 6:30pm before a break in the action on Saturday sets up a full day of competition on Sunday morning, starting off with the lap sprints at 9am.
