WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint

When: 12-14 April
Where: Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Victoria

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship is well underway and Scott McLaughlin has created a very comfortable lead at the top of standings. The reigning champion would be very confident going into this weekend's round, especially after claiming a clean sweep at Phillip Island last year.

In Adelaide and Melbourne, it was the new Ford Mustang that was turning heads thanks to its pace and performance dominating the field. However Holden struck back in Tasmania as Shane van Gisbergen got on the winners’ list for the first time this year.

Taking place from today until Sunday at the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, tickets start from $15 and are free for childen aged 12 and under.

2019 Heartkids Hillclimb

When: 14 April
Where: Fairbairn Park Hillclimb Circuit, Canberra

Motor sport and a charity come together for an annual time trial to raise awareness of HeartKids, Australia’s sole charity focussed on childhood heart disease.

While there will be lots of competitive action taking place across the day, the main focus is to raise awareness and money, along with making the day all about the kids. Since the inception of the event ten years ago, over $85,000 has been raised for the charity – with last year’s event raising $11,000.

With admission free for all, food and drink stalls available all day, some lucky kids will have the chance to ride in some of the cars competing in the event. Taking place from 9am-3pm, the Heartkids Hillclimb is a family-friendly,fun day out.

WASCC April Race Meeting

When: 13 April
Where: Barbagallo Raceway, Western Australia

It feels like a long time ago since the Western Australia Sporting Car Club’s state level March meeting celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Barbagallo Raceway.

Fresh from the West Australian Sporting Car Club’s golden jubilee of Barbagallo Raceway last month, more than 200 cars will entertain spectators this weekend across a variety of categories.

Fan favourites such as Production Sports, HQ Holdens and historic touring cars will once again form part of the nine category bill.

Spectators will also get an opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the drivers thanks to the Saloon Cars and two female Formula Vee drivers offering meet and greets to share the knowledge and show off their vehicles.

Gates open at 7am, with racing to get underway from 9am. Admission into the complex costs $15 and free for kids under the age of 13.
