Former Champion Joins TCR Line Up

Will Brown is the latest name to sign on to the TCR Australia Series.

2016 CAMS Australian Formula 4 Champion Will Brown will make history next month as part of the inaugural group of drivers to make a start at the first TCR Australia Series round at Sydney Motorsport Park.

With the season starting next month as part of the Shannons Nationals visit to Sydney, Brown will race a Hyundai i30 N TCR with HMO Customer Racing alongside former Super2 Series teammate Nathan Morcom for the full season.

Whilst continuing to juggle his Super2 commitments, Brown hopes to repeat his 2016 title-double where he claimed Formula 4 and Toyota 86 Racing Series honours.

“The ultimate goal would be to win the Series. I’ve done a lot of production car racing like TCR so I’m confident I’ve got what it takes to run up the top end of the field,” Brown said.

“Personally, I’m stoked to be on board with the HMO Customer Racing Team for 2019. I’ve been in discussion with Barry Morcom (team owner) for a little while now, so it’s great to finally get the deal over the line.”

With a test day still to come for the Queenslander, Brown is excited about the potential the racing has to offer.

“I think it will be a great first event,” Brown said.

“There’ll be plenty of opportunities for passing around the track and with the subtle size of the cars, it’ll make for super competitive racing down the straight.”
