It was another day of dramatic racing, with three separate categories putting on a show at the regional Victorian circuit.

carsales TCR Australia Series

It was the Will Brown show on Sunday, with the Hyundai driver winning both race two and race three to further cement his place at the top of the Series standings.

Jason Bright backed up his winning Saturday form with a second place in race two, but a mistake on the start line in race three saw him stranded on the line.

Aaron Cameron and his Volkswagen GTi were also impressive with two podiums on Sunday – a second and third place also putting him in the frame for title contention.

It was hard to look past Brown who was flawless at Winton – no other driver was able to keep with the young gun from Toowoomba – a 10 second margin in race three to the next best highlighted his dominance.

Australian Prototype Series

Realty Lane’s Daniel Gonzalez has captured his first ever round win, despite a drive through penalty in the final race.

Gonzalez had a strong and consistent weekend, narrowly edging out the OTR-backed Paul Trengove who finished the round in second. Gonzalez also claimed the win in Sunday’s opening race.

Trengove was rewarded with the Hankook Class win in just his second round competing in the Series, while Phil Hughes was impressive across all four races to claim the Radical class win.

Three races made up the Series’ Sunday, with two races for Series points and another to pay tribute to Father’s Day and the competitor’s families who sacrifice plenty to help the drivers go racing.

John-Paul Drake was the winner of the non-points race, claiming some much-needed Endota spa vouchers, while he backed up that form to win the final race of the day.

Drake’s strong weekend saw him end the event in third overall.

Porsche 944 Challenge

Cameron Beller’s winning ways continued on Sunday – a win in race three on Sunday morning making it a clean sweep of the Porsche 944 Challenge for the Victorian.

Adam Brewer finished second overall for the round, while Michael Westaway came third.

The category also competed in a fourth, handicapped race that was not for points. Beller was again one of the standouts– finishing fifth, despite starting at the rear of the grid. Pedr James the official final race winner for the Porsche 944 Challenge.

Next up, Sandown

Round 6 of the Shannons Nationals is less than a month away, with the iconic Sandown Raceway hosting a jam-packed weekend of racing in suburban Melbourne.

The debut of the S5000 Series, along with the popular carsales TCR Australia Series, CAMS Australian GT Championship, MRF Tyres Australian Production Cars and the final round of the Kumho Tyre Super3 Series are all on the card.

Shannons Nationals will also be welcoming its charity partner to the event - with Very Special Kids receiving 10 per cent of all ticket sales to fund its vital and life-changing work.
