The schedule for the Shannons Nationals season finale at The Bend Motorsport Park has been released with six categories taking centre stage for the final time in 2019.

 

Running between 15-17 November, the return of the brand new S5000 Series headlines the weekend after an impressive debut at Sandown Raceway, which featured 13 cars on the grid.

 

Like its international debut, the S5000 cars will have practice sessions on Friday before the first of two qualifying races on Saturday. On Sunday, the category opens with the other qualifying race before the main feature in the afternoon.

 

A successful inaugural season for the carsales TCR Australia series wraps up in the same fashion it has done for the whole year. Qualifying and the first race on Saturday follow two practice sessions on Friday, before the two consecutive races separated by Parc Ferme on Sunday.

 

The first category to wrap up its weekend will be the Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia with the one-make series to have all three races run on the Saturday.

 

 

With practice and qualifying sessions to take place on Friday, the GT3 Cup Challenge will be all done by Saturday afternoon as they close their thrilling season with a presentation night on Saturday night.

 

The Australian Prototype Series is another series to host its finale during the round with the open-wheel category holding two races, one on both days of the weekend – Sunday’s race being a longer 45 minute outing. 

 

While the Nationals Excels dominate the circuit rounds in each state, the Hyundais will trump each event with the best excel drivers from around the country taking part in the exhibition.

 

The category will feature the most times on the track with three heat races across Saturday and Sunday morning before a main race takes place on Sunday afternoon.

 

The final Shannons Nationals race for 2019 comes in the form of the Australian Production Cars Series with the category to have two one-hour races on both Saturday and Sunday.

 

With the racing taking place on the weekend, Friday will see crews undergo a couple of practice sessions before holding qualifying on Friday afternoon.
