VHT S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship
Joey Mawson has etched his name into Australian motorsport folklore, taking out the coveted Motorsport Australia Gold Star as winner of the Australian Drivers' Championship.

Mawson needed only to be classified to secure the title, the first since 2014, and things didn't start smoothly, with Mawson dropping to the rear of the grid following an off track excursion on lap one. Luckily for Mawson, he was able to get back on track and finish in eighth.

James Golding was the winner of the day's race, ahead of Luis Leeds and Nathan Herne.

While the 2021 Championship is now wrapped up, competitors won't have to wait too long for more open-wheel racing. The category re-joins the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships at Sandown in September as it begins its 2021/2022 summer racing calendar.



Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series
Thick fog blanketed Sydney Motorsport Park on Sunday morning, forcing a schedule change as competitors waited on conditions to improve.

Josh Buchan continued on his winning ways in Sunday's opening race, while Michael Caruso managed to secure his first TCR win in the final outing of the weekend.

Chaz Mostert leaves Sydney Motorsport Park with his Series lead intact, thanks to a sixth and second placing in Sunday's pair of races.

The day's final race saw competitors spend the majority of the race behind the Hyundai Safety Car, thanks to a number of separate incidents.

The category enjoys a short break before it heads to Morgan Park for the next round of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships in June.



Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters
Ryan Hansford and Steve Johnson both enjoyed race wins in the category's pair of races on Sunday.

Hansford sailed ahead of Jamie Tilley and Ryal Harris in the morning's race, while Steve Johnson was in a class of his own in the final event of the weekend, denying Hansford a clean sweep of race wins.

John Bowe's third place in the category's final race was enough to see him leave Sydney with a 10 point series lead over Hansford.

TCM returns to action at Morgan Park in June.



National Trans Am Series
The ding-dong battle between Nathan Herne and Aaron Seton continued on Sunday, the pair again trading blows throughout an entertaining race three.

Seton managed to secure the advantage in the day's only outing, taking the chequered flag less than a second ahead of Herne.

Tim Brook continued to show plenty of promise this weekend, ending Sunday in third ahead of Ben Grice and Dylan Thomas, the latter rounding out the top five.

Seton leaves Sydney with the Series lead, four points ahead of Herne, with Edan Thornburrow in third a further 117 points behind Herne.


Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge
Ryan Suhle claimed the race win in the category's final hit out of the weekend.

Christian Pancione and Suhle battled it out closely throughout Sunday's sole race, with Pancione's second place enough to secure an overall round win.

Callum Hedge ended race three in third, and also ended the weekend in outright third for his efforts.

Meanwhile, Sam Shahin had again assumed control of the Morris Finance Pro Am class from the start and was involved in a tussle with Courtney Prince for the duration of the race, however with Prince getting a penalty for a false start, Shahin was able to secure class honours.

RA Cup
Chris Perini secured another race win on Sunday, claiming an overall round victory after an impressive weekend on Sunday.

Perini led from lights to flag, aside from his compulsory pit stop, edging out Kostinken Pohorukov by 24 seconds.

Stephen Champion ended Sunday's race in third, while Sig Fuhrmeister came home in fourth ahead of Peter Clare who rounded out the top five.

Perini's maximum points haul added to his Series lead, with two round wins seeing Perini take a comfortable lead ahead of the next round of the RA Cup in September, again at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Australian Prototype Series
South Australian JP Drake took out a commanding victory in the series' only race for the day. 
 
Starting on the second row, Drake made amends for a disappointing start in yesterday's race, jumping to the front of the field almost instantly and holding the lead for every single lap.
 
Jason Makris offered a serious challenge, and was within one second of his Jam Motorsport teammate, though Drake’s all new Wolf F1 Mistral was the class of the field on Sunday.
 
Rounding out the podium was 2017 series winner Mark Laucke, while the sixth placed Carmelo Bonaventura took out the Radical class.  
 
Consistency paid off for Makris across the two races, claiming the round win for the weekend.

MRF Tyres Australia Production Car Series
Shane Smollen continued on his winning ways, making it three wins from three race starts

The BMW M4 driver looked unstoppable across the weekend, winning Sunday's race by more than 25 seconds.

The Production Car Series will be part of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships at Morgan Park for their second round of 2021.

Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series
While one race was scheduled for the popular Aussie Racing Cars on Sunday, the morning fog saw their single race for the day abandoned, leaving three drivers tied on points for the weekend.

Kody Garland, Nicholas Simmons and Tom Hayman all ended the event on 98 points.
