Walky Park is gearing up for a massive weekend of khanacross action as the Walkerville All Car Club hosts the third round of the Motorsport Australia SA Khanacross Championship.

More than 35 competitors are already confirmed to take part in the event, which also boasts the third round of the local Walky Park Series.

Competitors will have the opportunity to put their immense skills and perception behind the wheel on display against some of the best khanacross competitors South Australia has on offer.

Headlining the impressive entry list in a shared Subaru Impreza WRX are current championship leaders Michael and Bradley Clements, with the latter heading into the round with a narrow four-point advantage.

Although, they won't be the only WRX vying for the outright win, with their closest competitor in Sam Humphries also confirmed to take part this weekend and is a favourite to take out the G class honours as well.

Both Damien Wilson and Steve Leo will be looking to spoil the party for the championship top three, with a good result this weekend all but putting them into title contention.

Wilson currently sits fourth in the standings and will be piloting a Nissan Silvia S13 while Leo will challenge behind the wheel of his Honda Civic.

While the state championship competitors will be battling it out for vital points, they will still have the Walky Park Series entries to worry about, with the most recent outright round winner, Carwyn Harries returning to try and make it back-to-back wins.

His closest competitors, Matt Henderson and round one outright winner Michael Stroh will also return to the series, while a handful of challengers including Andrew Gleeson and Joshua Field will aim to go one or two better this time around after vying for podium positions in recent rounds.

The facility will open first thing on Friday morning for competitors, but the action will kick off on Saturday morning and run right through to 3pm ACST on Sunday, where the trophy presentation will then take place.

Spectators and accredited media are strongly advised to attend the event, with a brilliant showcase of driving across a great variety of automobiles certain to entertain all those attending all weekend long.

The third round of the Motorsport Australia SA Khanacross Championship and Walky Park Series will take place at Walky Park on 22-23 July.
