Experienced drivers will have a rare opportunity to take on one of the world's most challenging circuits this weekend for the ever-popular Challenge Bathurst.

The event is designed to allow motorsport competitors and owners of performance road registered cars test their skills and ability on the grandest of stage, with only few national and state categories given the opportunity to tackle the mountain in a competitive setting per year.  

First commencing in 2016, the event is a joint venture between the Bathurst Regional Council and the event organiser Accelerate Events, attracting up to 400 cars.  

There are four days of on-track action planned for the weekend, with entrants to be split into multiple groups across sprint and Regularity sessions.  

Thursday and Friday’s action will mostly consist of Sprint sessions, while the remainder of the weekend will see the Regularity format dominate the proceedings.  

A number of notable entrants have already locked in their place for the weekend, including Mobil 1 Australian Production Cars competitor, Simon Hodges and former Radical Cup Australia champion, Chris Perini.  

The duo will go head-to-head in the Supersprint A class, while another national champion in  John Paul Drake will share the track with fellow Australian Prototype Series competitor, Jason Makris in Class D.

Meanwhile, Jacob Lawrence will head an impressive list of drivers to take part in the Regularity aspect of the weekend and is one of many drivers expected to compete at the popular circuit at some stage in 2024.  

Spectators are welcome to attend the event, with gates top open at 7:00am AEDT and close at 6:00pm AEDT each day.
