The Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025 is set to be an unforgettable event, powered by Motorsport Australia.

Over the four-day event, nearly 1000 Motorsport Australia Officials work to ensure the nation’s preeminent motorsport event runs smoothly and safely – without the officials, there is no race.

Day one kicks off in less than one week, when close to 1000 officials gather before heading out to their respective posts across the circuit. Officiating is a critical part of motorsport, ensuring events are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Officials play a critical role in ensuring all on track action runs safely, from trackside marshals to technical inspectors and race control teams.

Motorsport Australia’s Sporting and Technical Director Lisa Crampton paid tribute to the many diverse volunteers who play their role in making the Australian Grand Prix a world leader amongst officials.

“The Australian Grand Prix simply wouldn’t happen without our officials,” Crampton said.

“Their dedication, expertise, and passion are the backbone of this event, ensuring every moment on track runs smoothly and safely. With nearly 1000 officials—from first-timers to those marking 40 years of service—this community embodies the very spirit of motorsport. We are incredibly proud to celebrate their contributions and recognise the vital role they play in delivering Australia’s biggest motorsport event.”

On average officials have participated in the Australian Grand Prix seven times and this year we will have 19 different nations represented with over a quarter of senior officials being women, including Deputy Chief Marshal, Chief Grid and Deputy Chief Fire Marshal and this year the first female Assistant Clerk of the Course.

Without the dedication of officials, the race simply won’t run. From family traditions to first timers, the officials community is one of pride, passion and professionalism.

The 2025 event also marks a 40-year milestone for 21 officials, and an opportunity to formally recognise their contribution to the sport.
