The 2027 Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC) calendar has been confirmed, with an expanded five-round schedule celebrating another year of thrilling off road competition.
The Championship will visit five states and territories throughout the season, beginning in New South Wales with the Pooncarie Desert Dash from 9-11 April.
Pooncarie will once again open the AORC season, with competitors set to tackle the challenging desert terrain in their first opportunity to score valuable championship points for the year.
The iconic Finke Desert Race secures Round 2 from 11-14 June over the King’s Birthday Long Weekend.
One of the biggest events on the Australian off road calendar, Finke attracts competitors and spectators from across the country for the famous journey between Alice Springs and the remote community of Aputula (Finke).
Round 3 will take place at the Loveday 400 in South Australia from 23-25 July, giving competitors another opportunity to build their championship campaigns before the season reaches its final stages.
The championship will return to Queensland for the newly added Charleville Enduro from 20-22 August.
The addition of Charleville expands the AORC calendar to five rounds and provides competitors with another opportunity to fight for championship and class honours across a diverse range of terrain.
The Kalgoorlie Desert Race will bring the season to a close, with the Western Australian event taking place from 21-24 October as AORC Champions and Class winners are locked in.
Motorsport Australia’s Off Road Manager, Campbell Smith, said the five-round calendar would provide an exciting challenge for competitors in 2027.
“We’re really pleased to announce a five-round AORC calendar for 2027, giving our competitors another opportunity to compete at some of the best off road events Australia has to offer,” Smith said.
“It’s fantastic to see the championship continue to expand, with five rounds giving our competitors more opportunities to race and showcase what they can do. We’re looking forward to seeing the AORC continue to go from strength to strength in 2027.
“Finke will again be a major highlight, while the addition of Charleville gives us a new venue and a fresh challenge as we head towards the run home at the end of the season.
“We’re expecting another highly competitive year and are looking forward to seeing the Championship continue to grow in 2027.
