More rally action on free-to-air
Monday 29 April, 2019
This year’s thrilling FIA World Rally Championship will be televised on Network 10 for the rest of the 2019 season, wrapping up with live coverage of the Kennards Hire Rally Australia finale on the New South Wales Coffs Coast on 14-17 November.
Subaru Rally Tasmania in June will also be broadcast on Ten, with a dedicated 30-minute post-produced show to provide the full run down on the third round of CAMS Australian Rally Championship.
Meanwhile, the BFGoodrich CAMS Australian Off Road Championship will also feature on free-to-air, with the highlights of the Tatts Finke Desert Race to also air on Ten, while Fox Sports will broadcast highlights from all three of the Championship events – including St George 399 which recently aired on Fox.
November’s Coffs Coast coverage also will include the final of the CAMS Australian Rally Championship.
News of Ten’s welcome return to coverage of the WRC and CAMS Australian Rally Championship was announced on the network’s RPM motor sport show by host Matt White.
“Rally is coming back to Ten. The WRC, full highlights of that, and the Australian Rally Championship, we’ll be covering as well,” White said.
“Rally Australia will be live on Ten later in November and we’ll also be covering the Finke Desert Race. RPM will be there every step of the way.”
Rally Australia will host its 27th WRC event in November. After an exciting start to the season featuring three different winners from four events, event organisers are predicting round 14 will be another exciting showdown on the Coffs Coast, where last year Sébastien Ogier, Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak fought each other for the drivers’ title literally down to the final stage.
It was also a tight finish for local competitors on the Coffs Coast, with Eli Evans and Ben Searcy claiming the CAMS Australian Rally Championship in a drama-filled weekend for Australia’s best drivers.
