Improved Productions join Queensland Nationals

The Shannons Nationals will welcome a fifth category for its visit to Queensland Raceway in August, with the Improved Production Queensland series entering the fold.
The local series joins a number of series for the Nationals, with TCR Australia Series, Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia, Australian Production Cars Series and the National Sports Sedan Series already part of the bill.
Shannons Nationals Director Michael Smith was thrilled with the addition of the Improved Production series in the Nationals’Queensland round.
"This year's events are going to be bigger and better than ever and we are delighted to welcome Improved Production Queensland to the line-up at Queensland Raceway," Smith said.
"Improved Production Queensland will join a host of exciting categories as part of our fourth round, including the new TCR Australia Series which is already proving very popular with competitors and fans alike.
Some of Queensland's best drivers will be on show at QR and we can't wait until early August for the event to begin."
Improved Production Queensland's President Drew Lawrence was also excited with the the series getting on the national stage.
"We can't wait to get out at Queensland Raceway for the Nationals,” Lawrence added.
"The Nationals is growing each year and it's great to be invited to contest this round alongside the likes of the new TCR Australia Series.
"It's exciting for us as a club to be able to showcase Improved Production and as always we will provide some great racing over the weekend for the fans.
"The Shannons Nationals will mark the series’ fourth round for 2019, with the reigning champion Jason Clements claiming the season opener at Morgan Park Raceway in March.
Rounds two and three of the series occur at Lakeside Raceway and Morgan Park in June, before heading over to Queensland Raceway for the penultimate round.
The season finale will return back to Morgan Park in September. The Shannons Nationals fourth round takes place at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich on 2 – 4 August.
