The FIA Girls on Track joined the Bathurst festivities this month with the most recent event taking place in the New South Wales regional town the day after the great race.

Following on from the six-day motorsport extravaganza at Mount Panorama, more than 50 schoolgirls from three different schools attended Denison College of Secondary Education Bathurst Campus to take part in the program, which is aimed at giving schoolgirls an insight into the many areas and career opportunities in motorsport.

Coming from Denison College, Kelso High Campus and Raglan Public School, the girls completed four activities throughout the day, including the popular pitstop challenge and fitness reaction challenges from other events, as well as participating in sponsorship and media workshops.

Leading the event was regular FIA Girls on Track ambassador Jessica Dane, while Triple Eight Racing’s Charise Bristow, personal trainer Stephanie Harris and media personality Bayli Madill were also on hand to help run stations along with Motorsport Australia and Driving Solutions staff.

The Bathurst edition of the program wasn’t the only event to take place this month, with the Go Kart Club of Victoria in Port Melbourne hosting two events over two days with more than 30 girls attending each session at the start of December.

Present at the Victorian event included FIA Girls on Track Ambassador Nadine Armstrong and ‘Champion’ Belinda Riseley.

The FIA Girls on Track has wrapped up for the year and the 2022 calendar will be released in the coming weeks.
