AWC Race Tasmania schedule released

The schedule for the first round of the 2023 Shannons SpeedSeries has been confirmed with a jam-packed weekend on the cards for the third annual AWC Race Tasmania.
Having established itself as the grand opening of the Shannons SpeedSeries since its inauguration, many of its regular categories will again be a feature during this year’s edition.
Headlining the list of categories at Symmons Plains Raceway will be the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia, S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship, Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters and the National Trans Am Series.

State-based categories, the Tasmanian Hyundai Excels and Tassie Tin Tops, will also take centre stage throughout the event, while fans will also be able to enjoy multiple demonstrations at different points over the weekend, including thrilling drifting demonstrations.
All four national categories will continue with their successful formulas from 2022, with Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters to have four races again, while TCR, S5000 and Trans Am each have three official races.
The Tasmanian Hyundai Excels and Tassie Tin Tops will each have four races over the course of the round, with state competitors to enjoy two races on both Saturday and Sunday.

Stan Sport will provide live, uninterrupted and on-demand coverage of the event, while there will also be free-to-air broadcasting on the Nine Network’s digital channels on Saturday afternoon from 2-5pm (25 February).
The AWC Race Tasmania takes place at Symmons Plains Raceway on 24-26 February.
