Strong grids expected for Victorian Circuit Championships

A jam-packed third round of the Motorsport Australia Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships will feature at the first-class Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit this weekend.
This is the second time the Phillip Island Auto Racing Club (PIARC) will host a round of the season and will do so on two more occasions later in the year – sustaining the Island’s history as one of the great race meccas.
Alternating between Phillip Island and Sandown, the Championships have also visited the Winton Raceway earlier in the year.
However, all attention turns to the famous Island where an impressive 208 entries will compete across the vast range of categories to take the track.
Fans will be treated to quite the spectacle as there will be no shortage of on-track action with 30 scheduled races across the weekend.
The Improved Production Cars will field the largest grid with 37 diverse entries to put on a show, while Formula Ford will welcome an impressive 29 entries.
Other categories include the Excels, Formula Vee, Toyota 86 Scholarship Series, Saloons, Sports Sedans, Porsche 944s and Holden HQs.
Each category will undertake one qualifying session before fighting for positions in three scheduled races to crown an outright winner.
The longest race being labelled the main race and will reward the winner with a larger allocation of points.
The action will kick off at 9:00am AEST and will conclude at 5:00pm and spectators will be welcome to witness all the action across the three days for affordable prices.
