Jack Le Brocq has claimed his first race win for 2023 and just the second of his career after an impressive day out at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin.

The Truck Assist Racing Camaro started Sunday’s race on pole after a blistering qualifying performance, taking the lead in to turn one and never looking back to claim a momentous victory for the Matt Stone Racing prepared car.

Le Brocq was understandably delighted with his victory and providing some mixed results for the category - Sunday’s final race result saw the ninth team in the paddock enjoy a podium finish for 2023.

“I’m lost for words to be honest,” Le Brocq said.

“It’s pretty unreal, it’s been a long time coming. We had an awesome car, so thank you to everyone at Matt Stone Racing. It will take the heart rate a while to calm down. Can’t wait to celebrate tonight.”

Brad Jones Racing’s Andre Heimgartner crossed the line in second, while Broc Feeney topped off a strong weekend with a third place in Sunday’s last outing.

It was a difficult Sunday afternoon for Championship leader Brodie Kostecki who ended the day’s final race at the rear of the field after contact on the opening lap resulted in steering damage with the Camaro driver three laps down after running repairs.

In the Championship battle, Kostecki’s woes were fruitful for his nearest competitors, with teammate Will Brown and the Red Bull pair of Feeney and Shane van Gisbergen closing the gap in third and fourth respectively.

Earlier in the day, Feeney continued his strong run of form to take home Race 14 honours ahead of teammate van Gisbergen in a strong return to the top step for the Red Bull Ampol Racing team.

Feeney started on pole and effectively led the entire race once the compulsory pit stops were completed.

While van Gisbergen made a late charge through the field, he didn’t have the pace to get by his teammate.

“To get pole position, get a good start and lead the race from start to finish, was awesome,” Feeney said post-race.

“Stoked for the team... we've made a massive step forward from the past few rounds.”

The Repco Supercars Championship now heads to Townsville for another battle on the familiar streets in northern Queensland for the category’s sixth round on 7-9 July.
