Three Motorsport Australia affiliated car clubs will now be able to begin work on a number of significant projects and events, thanks to a new round of South Australian Government funding.
Sharing in more than $135,000, the grants were made possible through the state government’s ongoing SA Car Club Program.
The three successful clubs were Sporting Car Club of South Australia, Southern Districts Car Club and the Modified Mini Car Club who have now all received confirmation of their funding.
As part of the funding allocation, the Sporting Car Club of South Australia will now be able to complete a resurface of the iconic Collingrove Hill Climb venue, as well as purchase equipment for IT upgrades, plus receive further financial support to assist in the running of the SCCSA All Historic Racing Meeting.
Meanwhile the Southern Districts Car Club received funding to contribute to its membership management software, along with the purchase of new timing tripods.
The Modified Mini Car Club was also successful in its application for the purchase of event related equipment.
Motorsport Australia CEO Eugene Arocca congratulated the clubs and thanked the South Australian Government for its commitment to motorsport.
“It’s very clear that the Malinauskas Government are big supporters of motorsport, both at the national and grassroots level, and also clearly understand the economic and societal benefits our sport can provide across the state,” Arocca said.
“This new round of funding is a terrific outcome for these three Motorsport Australia affiliated car clubs and will see some very important work completed, along with the purchase of some critical event infrastructure that will greatly assist our clubs.
“Motorsport Australia was proud to assist these clubs with their applications through our provision of grant writers who are able to support our affiliated clubs in any applications they may wish to make. It’s crucial these applications include all the right information and our Regional Development Executives around the country are ready to assist any affiliated club.”
