National Supersprint arrives at Morgan Park
Thursday 12 October, 2023
Morgan Park will be hosting the Motorsport Australia Supersprint Championship this weekend.
The latest Motorsport Australia National Speed and Auto Test takes place this weekend with the Supersprint Championship to take over Morgan Park Raceway.
In what will be the first time the event has been held in Queensland in close to a decade, the Porsche Car Club of Queensland has the honour of hosting the event.
Entered competitors will have multiple attempts throughout the weekend to post the fastest possible time around the well-renowned circuit, which will also host the seventh and eighth round of the Shannons Porsche Club Qld Sprint Championship, as well as the second round of the Shannons Porsche Clubsport Racing Series.
A minimum of six runs will be undertaken throughout the weekend, with the fastest lapped time counting towards the timesheets to determine the winner of the event.
A fantastic range of cars will be on show to the enjoyment of motorsport and racing enthusiasts in attendance, with a healthy entry list boasted by reigning national champion, Dean Tighe.
Tighe will be looking to make it back-to-back national titles at the three-kilometre circuit, but will have plenty of fast, hungry competition who will be eager to take the title from his name.
The first group will take to the track a 9am local time, with a minimum of six sessions to take place across the two days.
Spectators are encouraged to witness a new or retaining national champion crowned whilst catching a glimpse of some of the best circuit drivers the country has to offer.
The Motorsport Australia Supersprint Championship takes place at Morgan Park Raceway on 14-15 October.
