Motorsport Australia is pleased to announce a new agreement with The Bend that sees the APEX League return to Motorsport Australia for the remaining three rounds of 2026.
Further, Motorsport Australia and The Bend are working together to trial a new format for the remaining three rounds of the 2026 APEX League with Prototype vehicles competing alongside the existing GT-style cars, broadening the categories of eligible vehicles to deliver larger grids and more track time for all involved.
Notably, TCR Australia vehicles also return to The Bend alongside Lamborghini Super Trofeo, ex Porsche Carrera Cup, Ferrari World Challenge and MARC I vehicles as part of the APEX Cup.
One set of supplementary regulations will apply to all eligible vehicles competing in the APEX League, making it easy for a larger spread of categories to participate.
Motorsport Australia CEO Josh Blanksby said the return of APEX League to the Motorsport Australia-sanctioned events calendar is another significant step forward in its relationships with The Bend and a win for the entire motorsport community.
“We’re pleased to expand our work with The Bend through the APEX League, while also creating space for more people to go racing within the APEX League‘s premium and successful format,” Blanksby said.
“We are committed to working with circuits, clubs and categories to find practical solutions to go racing supported by the structure and safety frameworks that only Motorsport Australia can deliver.
“It’s important that we work together to find flexible and sensible solutions to ensure the long-term strength of motorsport in Australia.”
Alistair MacDonald, CEO of The Bend Motorsport Park, said the agreement reflects the venue’s ongoing commitment to growing grassroots motorsport alongside Motorsport Australia.
“We are committed to finding the best outcomes for the motorsport community and are pleased to be able to have more cars on track at The Bend,” MacDonald said.
“APEX League offers an easy way for drivers to compete. The approach is simple – one day at the track, mid‑week, with plenty of meaningful seat time.”
The next APEX League event will run at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park on 19 August 2026.
