Already at 35 competitors, the event is on track to reach more than 40 with a number of former champions and new contenders entered in the event.

Clerk of Course Darryl Power was looking forward to the event and was hopeful of getting a few more competitors.

“We are really looking forward to it. Especially since it’s the second time in our history of running a national khanacross event – it is brilliant,” Power said.

“There will be a lot going throughout the weekend, including a launch on the eve of the event with the council, as well as a special dinner during the event where competitors can enjoy some time with their family.

“We already have a few interstaters which is fantastic, I am hoping we can get some more but it should be an interesting competition.

“The track looks awesome with all the work the club has done in the lead up, so it should be a fantastic weekend.”
