Continuing what has been an exciting first half of this year’s Motorsport NSW Australia Off Road Racing Championship, the ever-popular Scotts Hydraulic Services Dondingalong Challenge kicks off this weekend.

Hosted by the Kempsey Macleay Off Road Club, round four of the championship will see 28 crews from around the state taking to Circuit Lane to battle it out for the coveted top spot, following a thrilling third round at Colo Park.

Coming off a comfortable two-and-a-half-minute victory at the last round, Pro Buggy driver Mat Huxley headlines the entry list and will be hoping to extend hi narrow lead at the top of state championship standings.

The talented steerer will be entering the event full of confidence after his most recent display where he won five of the seven races, and his skill will be put to the test in Dondingalong – an event known for requiring consistency.

Standing in Huxley’s way for back-to-back wins will be an impressive line-up of drivers, including Ben Scott who masterfully took home second place in round three and the likes of Nathan Wills and Kevin Cant – both of whom remain in title contention.

The closeness in points between Huxley, Wills and Cant will make for an exciting weekend at Dondingalong, with only 33 points separating the top three.

Also returning this weekend are all but one of the current top ten ranked drivers, with all but David Towers, who currently holds fourth, heading to Circuit Lane.

This weekend’s competition will also decide the winners of this year’s Kings of Kempsey competition, with the second and final round of the club-run series taking place alongside the state championship.

Spectator entry for the event is event is free and children’s entertainment, a full canteen and amenities will be provided.
