Shannons Nationals round 4
When: 2 - 4 August
Where: Queensland Raceway
The Shannons Nationals returns after a three-week break and is back with the biggest event for the year with a mammoth seven categories racing.
While the carsales TCR Australia Series, the Hyundai Excel Series and the Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia will form part of the impressive bill of categories, all eyes will be on the Australian Production Cars Series’ Fight in the Night on Saturday.
Tickets to the Shannons Nationals start from $20 with children 12 and under able to enter for free. Fans unable to attend the event can watch live and free from the comfort of their own homes through the live stream on the thenationals.com.au.
Winton Festival of Speed
3-4 August
Winton Motor Raceway
More than 250 historic open wheel and sedan race cars from around the country will congregate at Victoria’s Winton Raceway for the Victorian Historic Racing Register’s annual Festival of Speed.
From Historic Sports Sedans, HQ Racing and Italian Classic cars to Formula Ford celebrating its 50th year anniversary, the eclectic mix of cars across 24 categories make the event one of the most exciting on the Winton calendar.
As well as the exciting racing on track, around 500 cars will be on site for the Shannons Show and Shine occurring across both days, with the Group N Touring Car headlining Sunday’s action.
Horizon Apartments Narooma Forest Rally
When: 3 August
Where: Eurobodalla Shire & Surrounding State Forests, ACT
A bumper field of 33 crews head to Narooma forest to do battle in the event running five different series – including the NSW Clubman Rally Series and the Hyundai Open Rally Series.
With some of the ACT’s big names entered including Chris Higgs and Mick Harding, the event will see crews tackle 113 of competitive kilometres across six picturesque stages in two sections.
The first car is scheduled to start the Brindabella Motor Sport Club event at 10.30am, with just one spectator point available for fans on Mitchells Ridge Road, while cars will assemble at the NATA Oval Service Park at 9am, 12.45pm and 4pm local time.
