2019 Historic Leyburn Sprints
When: 17 - 18 August
Where: Leyburn, Queensland
It’s quite literally history in the making for the small town of Leyburn this weekend as the Queensland town celebrates the 70th anniversary of the first ever Queensland based Australian Grand Prix.
The event will see classic cars, including some of those that were there in the original race, compete on a makeshift track around the town’s streets, as well as welcome a number of motor sport legends on the big stage.
With Dick Johnson, Kevin Bartlett and Bill Gates some of the key figures the be part of the weekend, the event also has a number of activations to keep the whole family happy, including the popular Vintage Caravan display and Sunday’s Shannons Show ‘n’ Shine, which has hundreds of cars confirmed.
Shannons Sydney Classic

Where: Sydney Motorsport Park, New South Wales
Sydney Motorsport Park will be a full house this weekend as the Council of Motor Clubs NSW hosts the annual 2019 Shannons Sydney Classic Car Show as 2000 classic cars are on display throughout the popular circuit.
From classic motorbikes, military vehicles and fire engines to vintage and classic sport cars, the display is one to behold, as passionate car fans will consider themselves in car heaven. The opportunity to take a ride on the track on a vintage bus is also available for just a gold coin donation.
The cars aren’t the only thing for spectators to do, with pit lane garages full of trade stands and kids clubs, while the special Morgan Supersprint takes place on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday’s entry is free for all, while Sunday’s tickets start at $20 for adults.
2019 Cochranes Transport Mid-West Challenge
When: 17-18 August
Where: Coorow, Western Australia
The CAMS Western Australian Off Road Championship reaches its fourth round for the 2019 season with 30 crews set to do battle in the challenging event.
Now entering its third year, the course has a mixture of tight scrubby sections and a number of short straights, holding the title as one of the toughest events on the WA calendar.
Crews will tackle six laps of the 40km course with the racing to get underway on Saturday afternoon, before the final two sections on Sunday. Best of all, the event is free for all spectators.
