Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000

When: 10-13 October
Where: Bathurst
 
One of the biggest weekends on the motor sport calendar is nearly here, with the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship heading to the iconic Mount Panorama for the first of its endurance rounds.
 

On top of the regular 24 cars on the grid, two wild card cars will feature as part of the great race, which is expected to attract more than 200,000 spectators to the famous event.

 
On top of the main race, the five entertaining support categories and a number of off track activations part of the event. With the action starting from 9am each day and tickets are available from $41, fans are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets to avoid disappointment. 
 
 

Markwell Demolition 162 Challenge

When: 13 October
Where: Milchester Motorsports Complex
 
The third and final round of the CAMS Queensland Off Road Championship returns to Charters Towers for the season finale as 10 of the best crews in Queensland battle it out.
 
Also hosting the North Queensland Off Road Super Series, the pressure will be on for the crews will who undergo eight laps and cover up to 400 competitive kilometres under a specific time limit – their penalty of not reaching the designated time will be a heat DNF.
 
Round two winner David Skinner comes into the event as the man to beat after dominating the previous round, while Jan Wisse will want to redeem himself after a disappointing DNF last time out.
 
The action will get underway from 10am on Saturday on before wrapping on Sunday.
 
 
 
 

Alfa Club 12 Hour Relay

When: 12-13 October
Where: Winton Motor Raceway
 
Considered the Bathurst of club-level motor sport, 40 teams are entered into the endurance race which will test both the skill and focus across two long days.
 
The event is a regularity trial with the teams’ objectives being to get as close as possible to a certain amount of chosen laps, with their overall score to be determined by a number of completed and bonus laps.
 
Starting at midday on Saturday, the crews will cut laps of the Winton circuit for five hours before retuning on Sunday at 8.30am to complete a further seven hours.
