cams.com.au take a look at some events on the agenda this week, from state and national level through to grassroots motor sport.
2019 CAMS Australian Hillclimb Championship
When: 1 - 3 November
Where: Mt Panorama, New South Wales
It’s been 75 years of national hill climb competitions and the milestone will be celebrated in style this year with around 140 drivers from around Australia taking the country’s most famous track.
Last year, Malcolm Oastler dominated the competition at Bryant Park in Victoria and the reigning champion will be looking to go back-to-back on his local track, making him one of the favourites to win.
With practice getting underway on Friday, the action takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 9am with the champion to be crowned by Sunday afternoon.
The gates will be open from 6.30am each day with fans able to purchase tickets on location and enjoy non-stop action throughout the whole weekend.
Can’t make it? Be sure to watch the live stream, which will be shared on CAMS’ Facebook page.
2019 CAMS Queensland Circuit Racing State Championship Round 4
When: 1 - 3 November
Where: Morgan Park Raceway, Queensland
More than 100 drivers are entered in the final round CAMS Queensland Circuit Racing State Championships, with a number of class titles to go right down to the final race.
A range of different categories will take centre stage throughout the weekend with Hyundai Excel, Formula Vee, Sports Sedans and Production Touring cars just to name a few as part of the exciting bill.
Following on from the Championship’s major event, the Warwick 1000, the final round is expected to attract just as much fanfare with the racing to get underway from 9am each day.
Tasmanian Sand Enduro
When: 2-3 November
Where: Peron Dune, Tasmania
Another state championship wraps up this weekend with the CAMS Tasmanian Off Road Championship to be decided on Sunday.
One of the most picturesque courses in off road around Australia, St Helens beach will once again play host for the state’s best off roaders.
Chris Branch was the last man to enjoy success on the beaches with a comfortable victory in the St Helens Screamer in July where he led from start to finish.
